MC TEABAG is the UK's premiere decaffeinated MC, performance artist and tea leaf reader. He was born from a collaboration between artists Tom Stockley and Simon Bayliss, debuting their performance at Langaland Festival 2018. In November 2018, MC TEABAG was presented as part of FURTHER MEDITATIONS, an event in association with Plymouth College of Art. The occasional artist duo were enlisted by Whitegold Festival of Clay in 2020 and 2021 to read tea leaves and mildly confuse members of the public. Unsettling choreography, bewildering balladry and gratuitous interaction are all cornerstones of this anthropomorphic tea-based life form. He adheres to a strict diet of donk, queer techno and custard creams. He is everything you ever needed and nothing you ever wanted. For bookings, stir a cup of tea anti-clockwise and draw a pentagram from the soggy drips. From 2021 MC TEABAG has also been performing and releasing music as MC BEACHBALL. |
In 2021, after a residency at The FIsh Factory, MC TEABAG metamorphosed into MC BEACHBALL - a summer time mutant rapper and anthropomorphic piece of beach furniture. A few weeks later he recorded and released 'RACKET SPORTS', a song about something he has no particular interest in.

"MC Teabag is terrible. I wish he never existed and it's ruined my lifelong enjoyment of hot beverages" - David Attenborough
